about

In describing the writing style for the cult-classic series, Mystery Science Theater 3000, writer and co-creator Joel Hodgson said he and his writing team never worried about, “how many people will get it, the RIGHT people will get it.” The strategy seems to have worked.

The same approach could be said of the operating brain behind the sound of WALMARTIANS. The reclusive creative often focuses on a sound, a theme, a moment, that demands musical attention and veers sharply in that direction. Go with what you like and maybe pick up a few riders along the way.

The sound of WALMARTIANS can be equal parts bash pop, intergalactic surf, sprawling soundscape, or ambient experimentation. Sometimes, a mixture of many of these ingredients. Instrumentals can tell a story.

One thing is for certain, WALMARTIANS have said so much musically without saying much of anything. The ebb and flow of the musical torrent generated by WALMARTIANS is unlike any other band. It defies genre. It defies style. It most certainly cannot be categorized...not even by Henry Rollins. This collection showcases a decade of wordless storytelling.

Music for sake of being music. Enjoy.
